I wanted to take a few minutes and write to you about our experience with Lori Monstein. I've known Lori for about 25 years (from a previous employer years ago), and when our son wanted to buy an investment property in Corvallis, the first person I thought of was Lori, as I knew she had become a realtor after leaving our old employer. She was always trustworthy and helpful in our previous job, and I knew she would do my son right. We live in Hillsboro, so having someone I knew we could trust and treat our son fairly - and since this was his first property ownership - would answer his questions and direct him to what he needed to know, when to do it and what to do, and show him patience and kindness was a MUST. Lori did all that ... and more. She met with us (my husband and I went down to check it out the first time) and met us in Corvallis around a schedule that would work for all 3 of us. It has been an amazing experience for all of us. Her patience with Tommy and helping him understand all that was involved with home ownership, and what to expect during the process was above and beyond what I had expected. To say she's one of a kind is an understatement. I've been meaning to write this email for a month now, and have been too busy between working my day job, and fixing up my new to me duplex in Corvallis, so decided to take the time today to get this to you. My Mom introduced me to Lori because they worked together at NW Natural years ago and was told she had gone into real estate in the Eugene area. She reached out to her on Facebook when I mentioned wanting to buy a duplex in Corvallis because we don't know anyone who could help me (my brother goes to OSU and rents a bedroom in a duplex for $800/month). I started to think about buying my first investment property in Corvallis rather than where I lived at the time, in Hillsboro. From my first telephone call with Lori, to our first meeting at the duplex, she put me at ease and answered all my (probably dumb) questions without making me feel stupid. She was very supportive of my Mom and Dad, too, when they had questions that I didn't know to ask. She walked me through what to do, what to expect, and when to expect it, so there were no surprises. I set a goal for the next 5 years - buy 2 duplexes, and once they're both supporting themselves, I will be purchasing a home for myself. Lori told me she would be happy to come all the way to the Portland area to help me with another duplex purchase or for my first house, and I will be taking her up on that.
